The Enchanted Forest

Writer: John BostJohn Bost

Those were the words that were in my mind as I awoke this morning. You see, for the past several mornings, my mind has been on a journey with God, and with each sunrise a commitment to capture those thoughts for some yet unseen but practical purpose.

Not sure if it's fantasy or full fellowship with God. However, today is a new place and I'm keeping my spirit open, my heart soft, as my body ages.

This morning is strangely peaceful as I read, relax and now write. It's as if I stepped out of some familiar but hectic place, returning to an enchanted reality. Is that the way death feels, if so, quite different than something one would fear.

As I now glance back at yesterday's title, The Crucible, and the pace of my yesterday around which that post was written, there is some message surely there for me personally.

This week has been slammed, up yesterday morning at 3:00 a.m. wrestling with things critical to the week's close out, intense conversations right up until the nightly news. I did manage one blog post around 5:00 a.m. before the attorney offices opened at 8:00.

In between and over the last few days, each time I came up for air, I did notice all the furniture tops had been cleared, and upon inquiry I was asked to carry down some heavy plastic containers from our walk up attic. I did, though at times with my cell phone tucked between my ear and my shoulder.

This morning I notice the signs of seasonal change all around me, charmingly placed are the contents from those crates!

My wife is amazing!

Last evening she informed me that we would need to go shopping for "fantasy pumpkins" as she calls them, as the front steps of our home in Blowing Rock are next!

Two different lifestyles, bound together now for nearly 50 years! My life quite different than hers, both critical to our spiritual balance and life callings. I do meetings, she does hospitality, together a meaningful ministry as He "prepares a table before us!"
